Suspects sought in Northport lottery scam

EAST NORTHPORT -

Police are searching for the couple who scammed an older woman out of cash.

According to police, a woman and a Brazilian man convinced the older woman to withdraw money from her bank account as part of a lottery scam.

Police say the couple met the victim at Meat Farms on Fort Salonga Road in Northport in August.

Police aren't explaining exactly how the scam worked or how much money the couple got away with

Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
