Bridgeport police: Teen critical after bullet fragment hits brain

Bridgeport police added extra security at area high schools Friday after a teen was shot.
Investigators say a 16-year-old student was shot in the head when two groups of teens clashed near Park Avenue and Norman Street around 3 p.m. Thursday.
Police say the victim was with a group from Central High School.
Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez says the teen was shot in the shoulder and a fragment from the bullet ended up in the frontal lobe of his brain.
Perez says the teen is in serious condition at St. Vincent's Medical Center.
Marked and unmarked patrol cars were present outside of the city's high schools Friday.
Police have surveillance video from local stores showing the shooting. They say they hope to make an arrest soon.
