Kids with special needs catch some waves at surf camp

Being a top athlete is no small feat, but a local organization gives kids with special needs a chance to capture the gold in the ocean for the day.
Challenger Athletics held its second annual Surf Camp Sunday for children with both physical and learning disabilities.
Dozens of kids hit the waters off Gilgo Beach, and with the help of 'buddies,' had the opportunity to catch some waves!
Organizers say to see kids in the water and having fun, doing something they probably never would try on their own, is the most uplifting experience they can have.
