Seven pit bulls were found dead in a sump in Hempstead.
The dogs were found Wednesday in trash bags off South Franklin Street.
The Nassau SPCA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
”This is horrendous, that somebody would kill these animals and dump them over the fence in the sump," said Nassau SPCA Detective Gary Rogers.
Anyone with information is asked to call 516-THE-SPCA.
