Security beefed up at William Floyd schools after threat

Suffolk police say they have increased patrols around William Floyd schools after an anonymous social media threat.
    
The unspecified threat to William Floyd High School and William Paca Middle School was made for today.
The district says in addition to extra police, all schools will remain on lock-out during the school day. 
The district released a statement yesterday that reads:
9/13/18 at 4:35 pm: Today, the William Floyd School District became aware of an anonymous social media threat to William Floyd High School and William Paca Middle School for Friday, September 14. The Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD) has been notified and is currently investigating. SCPD officers will be present across the district tomorrow providing support during arrival, dismissal and throughout the day. All schools will remain on lock-out during the school day per normal security procedures. The William Floyd School District will continue to be vigilant and follow all safety procedures in place to keep.
