Cooking with Coach: Hills West coach throws down in the kitchen

DIX HILLS -

The Half Hollow Hills West football team is off to a 1-0 start – and after the Colts win, they usually have a victory meal.

But when Coach Kyle Madden gets into the kitchen, it’s a whole different ballgame.

He says that he was inspired by cooking shows on TV to serve up elaborate meals for his team.

“I do a lot of planning beforehand...It's very important that we stick to the plan,” says Madden.

News 12’s Jamie Stuart watched on as the coach, with help from his assistant coach, made a pizza station, gourmet burgers and a shrimp and pasta dish for his players.

“When people come over, I want them to feel like it's something very, very special,” he told News 12.
