A street light post came crashing onto a sidewalk in Kensington Wednesday after getting sideswiped by a truck.
Surveillance video from a nearby business on Church Avenue shows an 18-wheeler trying to make a right-hand turn onto Coney Island Avenue, knocking down the metal pole.
Witnesses say the driver stopped and waited for police, and luckily no one was hurt. They say it's not the first time this has happened. Witnesses say it happened just months ago and another time a few years ago.
Residents who live near the intersection say the city needs to make it safer. One way they say it can be safer is if trucks are not allowed to make right-hand turns at the narrow intersection.
The Department of Transportation says the pole will be removed from the sidewalk within the next few days and a new one will be reinstalled within the coming weeks.
News 12 was waiting on a response about how they will prevent this from happening again.
