Authorities say they’re trying to track down a man who exposed himself to a group of women who were jogging in the Massapequa Preserve.
It happened around 9:15 a.m. Sunday. Police say the man fled after the incident.
Patrols have been stepped up in the area as police search for the suspect.
Nassau police say they take the incident seriously.
"It’s a Class A misdemeanor. If you are convicted of this offense, then you will have this permanently on your record," says Detective Lt. Richard Lebrun.
As News 12 reported last August, cameras were installed in the preserve following similar incidents and other crimes. Police say they are reviewing all of the video from the park.
The man is described as 20 to 25 years old. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
