Martial arts program teaches students how to defend against bullying

A martial arts program in Dunellen is teaching students how to defend themselves, mentally and physically.
For many children, the start of a new school year can be stressful, especially if they have been victims of bullying.
Master Michael Lujan has used Tae Kwon Do to help his students overcome bullying for three years.
In class, students are taught to be mentally and physically strong.
“We really focus on the discipline and confidence that comes along with the martial arts,” says Lujan.
Lujan teaches them how to stand up to bullies without violence.
“It’s not just going into kicking and punching,” says student Sarai Gonzalez.. “It’s talking and defending yourself with your words too.”
