Suffolk police: 8 arrested at sobriety checkpoint

Police say they are cracking down on drivers who are under the influence on Long Island's roadways this Labor Day weekend.

Suffolk police set up a sobriety checkpoint overnight on Waverly Avenue in Patchogue. Eight people were arrested on charges including DWI and driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Officers say they will be out in full force this holiday, including on the water, look for drunken and impaired drivers.
