UNIONDALE -

Police say a 70-year-old man was struck in the head with his own cane and robbed.

Police say Timmell Pearson, 30, knocked the man to the ground, causing a skull fracture and brain trauma.

It happened on Jerusalem Avenue on Thursday.

Pearson is also accused of stealing the man's cane, and cash from his pocket.

When officers found Pearson, they say he tried to hit a cop with the cane, before he was arrested.
