A street co-naming ceremony was held Saturday for a NYPD detective and U.S. Air Force technical sergeant who was killed in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan.
Bayshore Avenue will now include the name of Joseph G. Lemm, a detective in the 50th Precinct Bronx warrant squad.
He was killed in the suicide bombing while serving in the Air National Guard in December 2015.
The new street name is across from the Ampere Fishing and Yacht Club.
Mayor Bill de Blasio was among those in attendance.
A detective in the warrant squad says the location of the street renaming gives loved ones a place to reminisce.
