Bronx native ties as ‘Food Network Star'

A Bronx native recently cooked up a tie on “Food Network Star.”
Christian Petroni made Food Network history this season, co-winning the show with another contestant.
“Growing up in the Bronx, hanging out in Brooklyn my whole life – to be able to be on the stage that I was on, to talk about that and bring light to this beautiful, beautiful area down here,” says Petroni. “That just means so much to me.”
Petroni showed News 12 around his Downtown Brooklyn restaurant Fortina, which specializes in Italian dishes like his signature dish, the Luigi Bianco Pizza.
"We put a lot of love into our dough, we put a lot of love into how we cook our pizza,” he says. “We put a lot of love into everything."
Petroni tells News 12 that while the name and air date are not set yet, he will soon be returning to TV with his own show.
