Workers at an Essex County playhouse damaged by flooding say that “the show will go on.”
The Studio Playhouse in Montclair lost almost all of its extensive prop collection Saturday due to flooding. The volunteer organization is now seeking donations to replace those props.
“Tables, chairs. We have great upholstered pieces that look like the ‘30s or ‘40s, but are probably from the ‘80s. Things that were lovingly donated by our members or from their family members,” says playhouse member Amy Fox.
Studio Playhouse has operated continuously for 81 years in Montclair. Its volunteers put on eight shows a year.
