Police say two people were killed and five people were injured in a crash Sunday afternoon in Brentwood.
They say a tan sedan and black SUV collided just before 2 p.m. on Crooked Hill Road.
Officials say Olvin Jimenez was driving the tan Toyota Corolla southbound on Crooked Hill Road and lost control of the car just south of the Long Island Expressway. It crossed into the northbound lane and was hit by the black Toyota RAV4.
Jimenez and his front seat passenger, 39-year-old Erica Jimenez-Mejia, died at the scene.
Two children in the back seat of the Corolla were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the RAV4, Allissiana Rose Licata, and her passengers, Nicholas Licata and Emmanuel Licata, were also taken to the hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The road was temporarily closed for hours as police investigated the crash.
Police are asking anyone with information to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
