Centereach man accused of driving drunk, hitting and killing tourist in NYC

NEW YORK -

A Long Island man is arrested after allegedly driving drunk and hitting an Australian tourist in Manhattan.

News 12 is told a Centereach man allegedly drove drunk, and hit and killed an Australian tourist Friday.

Police say Madison Jane Lyden was biking in Central Park when she swerved to avoid a taxi.

They say that's when she collided with a garbage truck, driven by Felipe Chairez.

The Long Islander is facing several charges, including DWI.
