Flyers with the message "White Lives Matter" have turned up at more homes in Suffolk County.
Residents in Calverton by Pinehurst Boulevard and Highview Drive found the flyers folded up inside of plastic bags and weighed down with pebbles.
The same materials were found in Center Moriches last month, and state police have launched an investigation into similar propaganda found throughout New York state.
Suffolk police say the distribution of the flyers is not a crime. It's free speech protected by the First Amendment.
But some residents were disturbed by them.
"We are a blended family, so I thought we were targeted," says Rachel Capazzola, who has lived in the area for her entire life. But many neighbors received the same flyer.
Capazzola says she found it difficult to talk to her children about the content.
"My 8-year-old daughter found it and I had to explain to an 8-year-old what prejudice meant," she says.
