PSEG LI: Cement truck snaps poles in Hicksville, traps driver

A cement truck backed into two utility poles early Friday morning in Hicksville, causing them to snap and trap a driver, according to PSEG Long Island.
The Hicksville Fire Department told News 12 they received a call around 12:30 a.m. and when they got to the scene two utility poles and wires were down.
The trapped driver was safely removed from the vehicle without injury. The incident resulted in about 1,400 power outages in the area.
Part of South Broadway south of Old Country Road was shut down for more than 12 hours while crews installed new poles and a transformer.
