MIDDLE ISLAND -

Suffolk County is allocating $1 million to complete the Fish Ladder project in Carmans River.

A ladder will be installed at Lily Lake Dam to help migratory fish get upstream to spawn.

Environmentalists say the project is critical to the “circle of life.”
