Code violations have now been issued, after police discovered an over-crowded home in East Hampton.
Town police say 32 unrelated people were found living inside a single-family home on Railroad Avenue.
News 12 is told 18 of them were sleeping on mattresses on the basement floor near a gas generator and gas storage.
Officials say there are no smoke detectors. That is one of several code violations that the property owner is now facing.
