Amazon is stepping up its delivery game on Long Island.
Prime members can now get free two-hour delivery of groceries to a home or office from nearby Whole Foods markets. An express one-hour delivery option is $7.99 extra.
Shoppers can use the Amazon Prime Now app or website to place an order.
There are other companies already offering online grocery delivery on Long Island, but retail expert Marshal Cohen, from the NPD Group, says this could be a game-changer for busy Long Island families who already have an Amazon Prime membership.
“Nothing gets more consumers shopping more frequently than food, and now by bringing the convenience of this delivery right to your doorstep, it’s a big change,” he said.
Others told News 12 that they won’t be using the delivery service because they like to pick out their own groceries.
