Police: Teen struck, injured by hit-and-run driver in West Hempstead

Police say a 14-year-old was injured after being struck in West Hempstead by a driver that fled the scene.
According to police, the boy was walking east on Eagle Avenue and was hit as he crossed over Cleveland Street just before 10 p.m. Monday.
The teen suffered a broken leg.  
The car that took off is described as a light colored four-door sedan.
