2 men rescued after boat runs out of fuel in Great South Bay

BAYPORT -

Police say two men wound up in the water after their boat ran out of fuel Saturday night.

It happened just south of Homan's Creek in Bayport on the Great South Bay.

One of the victims was able to swim back to the vessel.

News 12 is told another unidentified man was drunk and went underwater.

The Marine Bureau and firefighters were able to get him back to land.

He was suffering from hypoxia, or a lack of oxygen, but is expected to recover.
