Jazz musicians took to the stage Saturday for the fourth annual Coltrane Day at Hecksher Park.
The day featured live performances, children’s workshops and plenty of food truck options.
Organizers say the theme of the event this year was "building community through music." Ron Stein, of the Coltrane Home, says that is what John Coltrane was all about.
"John wrote his most influential work, ‘A Love Supreme,’ in the upstairs of the Coltrane Home in Dix Hills," said Stein.
