Special Olympics athlete from Huntington honored

Special Olympics athlete Angel Athenas received a hero’s welcome in  Old Bethpage on Thursday, as she was honored by the Family Residences and Essential Enterprises.

The Huntington power lifter won four gold medals at the Special Olympics in Seattle earlier this month.

In addition to the medals, Athenas also broke the women’s deadlifting record at the 2018 New York Special Olympics in Albany.
