Future lifeguards put their skills to the test Wednesday at the Jones Beach Junior Lifeguard Tournament.
Children ages 10 to 16 participated in events such as a beach run, a distance swim and rescue and relay races.
A regional tournament will also be held, followed by a national tournament in two weeks.
