3 rescued from LI Sound after canoe overturns near Northport

NORTHPORT -

Three men were rescued from the water Friday near Northport.

The men pulled from the Long Island Sound after their canoe overturned.

A PSEG worker spotted the victims in the water clinging to their canoe.

They were about 300 yards off shore at the time.

Police say only one of the men was wearing a life jacket.

News 12 is told that they all declined medical attention.
