Visitors at Sagamore Hill National Historic Site got to spend Independence Day with Theodore Roosevelt himself.

The national park site invited Long Islanders and other guests to dress up in their patriotic best and take a trip back in time.

Attendees got to see history come to life with an equestrian reenactment. There was also a petting farm in the historic pastures where the Roosevelt family kept their own livestock.
