Sayville man drowns in rip currents off coast of North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA -

A Sayville man has died after he was caught in rip currents off the North Carolina Outer Banks.

The National Park Service says they received a 911 call on Thursday reporting multiple swimmers in distress at Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

The 48-year-old victim has not been identified.
