LI bartenders beat Tennessee bartenders in Long Island iced tea battle

FREEPORT -

Long Island bartenders have beat Tennessee in a duel over Long Island iced tea!

In May, the Kingsport's tourism board claimed the Long Island Iced Tea was invented in Long Island, Tennessee. They say Long Island stole the cocktail and claimed it as our own.

However, after yesterday's battle in Freeport, the judges decided and Long Island bartenders made the tastier drink.

The southerners will have a chance to redeem themselves on July 13.

That is when round two will be held on their home turf in Kingsport.
