A police officer in Atlantic City is recovering after being stabbed, authorities say.

It happened on the 600 block of North Kentucky Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the prosecutor's office, a man was also shot by police at that location.

The officer, who has not been identified, is in stable condition at the hospital.

An investigation is underway. Further details on the case have not been released at this time.
