A Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer came back to his hometown of Stamford Thursday night to discuss an emotional picture he took at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Photographer John Moore planned the night at the Building One Community Center weeks ago to discuss his new book but also spent time discussing the moving pictures he recently took of young immigrant children being separated from their parents at the border.

Moore's picture of a 2-year-old girl crying at the border has captured the hearts of people all over the world. Moore says the girl and her mother had traveled from Honduras to seek asylum, but when they got to the border and immigration agents asked the mother to put the girl down, the girl began to cry.

Time Magazine is going to use the image with a picture of the president saying "Welcome to America."

Moore has captured many other moments like that picture along the border. Since Moore’s photos were released, the president has signed an executive order to not separate immigrant children from their families.
