The Islanders want a $400,000 tax exemption from the Nassau County’s Industrial Development Agency.
The team says it is spending $2.7 million to make Nassau Coliseum NHL-compliant.
The tax break would be on the purchase of things like construction materials.
The Islanders are set to play some games at the Coliseum during the next three seasons while their new arena is being built at Belmont.
