ELMONT -

The Long Island Rail Road is now reviewing its performance during the Belmont Stakes.

Newsday says part of the signal system failed around 1 p.m. last weekend in Queens Village.

They say that caused serious delays on crowded trains and platforms on four branches.

The LIRR is now looking at how it responded to the issues, how it communicated with riders, and how to prevent similar problems in the future.
