Best of Brooklyn: Artist creates Picasso sculpture

A large outdoor sculpture of Pablo Picasso is catching attention along the Columbia Street waterfront.
The oversize sculpture of Picasso shows the late artist mowing the lawn of the greenway along Columbia Street.
Elliott Arkin created the 10-foot garden gnome out of fiberglass and urethane.
Pablo joins other sculptures in the area like Andy Warhol filling a paddling pool to Georgia O'Keeffe planting flowers.
Arkin has partnered with the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative.
He says it's a personal project for him. The artist has been sculpting in Brooklyn for more than three decades.
"I think humor is a very effective way to communicate with people and to get through to people because it's not threatening
Picasso will be around until July 15.
