The move to raise the age to buy tobacco products in Nassau County has been made official.
Nassau County Executive Laura Curran signed new legislation today.
The bill raises the legal minimum age to purchase cigarettes and other tobacco items to 21.
The move was initially introduced by late Legislator Judy Jacobs.
This year, the measure was supported by all 19 members of the Legislature.
The ban includes e-cigarettes and vaping-related products.
