High school students held a rally against gun violence in Port Jefferson Station Saturday in wake of multiple school shootings across the country.

Dozens of orange-wearing rallygoers waved flags and held signs on the side of Oak Street.

Attendee Casey Hozven, of East Setauket, says having more guns “does not prevent gun violence, it actually incites it.”

Others say that guns are not the root cause of the violence issue. Pete Pappas, the director for the Sportsmen's Association for Firearms Education, says taking away guns won't stop violence.

"Bullying is a huge problem, psychotropic drugs are a huge problem," says Pappas. "Take away the guns, people use trucks. Take away trucks, people use bombs. They're going to use knives. They're going to find a way…Blaming the guns is the wrong way to do things."

Survivors of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida will be graduating on Sunday.
