Pedestrian hit and killed in East Farmingdale

EAST FARMINGDALE -

A pedestrian was hit and killed Friday night in East Farmingdale.

Police say it happened around 10:30 p.m. at the Route 109 overpass at the Southern State Parkway.

The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene. Their car was impounded for a safety check.

Police say no charges are expected to be filed in the case, but they have not been able to identify the pedestrian. They are asking anyone with information about the crash to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
