Smithtown's superintendent says a Smithtown High School West teacher was reassigned after allegations of "inappropriate behavior with a student."
Superintendent James Grossane tells News 12 that the teacher is no longer in the classroom, pending the outcome of the investigation.
Suffolk police confirmed to News 12 that they have an open investigation into the matter.
