Thomas Jefferson statue to remain at Hofstra

Hofstra's statue of Thomas Jefferson is staying put. 

The university's president says the sculpture will not be moved, despite some protests.

A task force will be created to address students’ concerns instead.

One group called "Jefferson Has Gotta Go!" says that's not good enough. It is still demanding the sculpture be removed over Jefferson's ties to slavery.

The group has issued a list of demands, including the creation of a tip line where students can report racist, sexist or bigoted behavior.
