Art show opposes violence in two dimensions

Students from almost two dozen schools across three boroughs have contributed their artwork to an anti-violence exhibition on St. Johns Place in Crown Heights.
The students ranged in age from 12 to 24, and professional artists chipped in as well.
They made paintings and wall hangings and took photographs based on the theme of coping with violence. The pieces must be two-dimensional.
It's the eighth annual Arts to End Violence event, and organizers say Thursday's beautiful weather helped draw a bigger crowd than last year.
Reproductions of the artwork will also be posted in local businesses, and the items are for sale.
The exhibit runs until June 7.
