Officials in Nassau and Suffolk counties are warning not to expect a change in marijuana enforcement even though the city is changing its policy.
Both county officials tell Newsday they intend to keep arresting low-level marijuana offenders.
The news comes as New York City is backing off on so many arrests because of a wide racial gap among suspects.
Nassau and Suffolk say they will change only if state law changes.
