A man went into a Crown Heights barbershop for a haircut and left through the front window with a gash across his face Thursday, police say.
Police say around 3 p.m., a 33-year-old man got into a verbal dispute with a barber at Levels Barbershop on Nostrand Avenue. Barbers working at the shop say it started during a haircut while the customer was seated in a chair. The argument continued when the customer was displeased with the results of the cut and threatened not to pay.
The customer reached into his bag to get what eyewitnesses say they believe was money. The barber allegedly struck him in the face, knocking him through the front window and out onto the sidewalk.
The victim suffered a cut to the face and was rushed to Kings County Hospital Center. The barber immediately left the scene.
Levels management says they don't believe the incident will affect business. Customers who spoke with News 12 agreed and praised the shop's customer service.
