A 68-year-old man is accused of trying to abduct two 10-year-old boys in separate incidents earlier this month.
Zhu Lin Shi was walked out of the 72nd Precinct on Fourth Avenue in handcuffs Thursday afternoon. He faces charges of acting in a manner injurious to a child, unlawful imprisonment and menacing.
The first incident allegedly happened around 3 p.m. May 7 near Fort Hamilton Parkway and 58th Street. Police say a 10-year-old boy was walking home from school when the suspect came up to him and asked him if he wanted ice cream. When the boy refused, he told police that the man grabbed him by his book bag and held him there, until the boy bit him and he finally let go.
Two days later on Wednesday, May 9, around the same time on Seventh Avenue near 53rd Street, a 10-year-old boy walking home from school said he was approached by the same man. He told police the man grabbed him by the arm and tried to keep him from leaving, but the boy says he kicked him and the man took off.
Lin Shi was brought to the precinct on Wednesday after police put out surveillance video and hung posters around the neighborhood.
News 12 went to his home on Seventh Avenue, a six-unit apartment building, but no one would comment.
