Powerful storms swept through Long Island Tuesday, leaving some residents without power.
Lightning lit streaks across the sky from Nassau to Suffolk.
Thick, dark clouds rolled over Old Field Point in Suffolk County, its lighthouse beacon just peeking through the sky near Port Jefferson.
In Valley Stream, winds blew over a tree. Another one fell onto power lines in Glen Cove, leaving East Beach Drive undrivable.
PSEG Long Island says outages affected almost 6,000 customers at the height of the storm.
