Severe weather sweeps across Long Island
Strong storms are bringing heavy rain and high winds to the area this evening.
The storms could bring strong winds of 50 to 60 mph with heavy flooding rain. One to two inches of rain with small hail is possible.
Showers and thunderstorms will last through 11 p.m. with lows near 59 degrees.
Things cool down again on Wednesday, with temperatures dropping back into the 60s under cloudy skies with showers.
The weather will remain unsettled for the week, with swings in temperatures and rain showers, News 12 meteorologists say. Friday also could bring a chance for more storms with the possibility of heavy rain and street flooding.
