RIDGE -

An arrest has been made in connection to a crash that involved a Suffolk County police cruiser.

Investigators say the officer was on the shoulder of the William Floyd Parkway in Ridge Saturday morning, helping a disabled motorist.

That's when they say Jovan Cerisier hit the cruiser. Police say the 20-year-old was driving drunk at the time.

He is charged with DWI.

The officer was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
