Law enforcement officers took part in bomb detection training in Melville Wednesday, with the goal of keeping people safe during major public events.
Suffolk police, the NYPD and the FBI all took part in the training.
They learned how to use "Scan-X Scout" equipment.
The X-ray imaging equipment is used to detect bombs at high-profile events, such as the U.S. Open next month at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
