A quadriplegic man from Manorville says he is outraged after his $50,000 wheelchair was destroyed by Delta Airlines.
Al Orlando has been confined to a wheelchair for the past two decades after suffering a spinal injury during a dirt bike accident.
He says his motorized wheelchair was badly damaged by Delta Airlines on a flight coming home from Las Vegas this past weekend.
“The wheel was off, the plastic was broken, the screen was broken, the chair was all twisted, it was mangled,” he told News 12.
Orlando says that Delta reached out to him, saying they would take care of the damages.
“I'm not too confident considering they left me sitting at the airport for three hours and didn't know how to handle it,” says Orlando.
A statement from Delta to News 12 states that the airline is “fully looking into the matter” and will be dealing directly with Orlando to “make things right.”
