Police: Driver had heart attack, hit pedestrian, 2 fences

Police say a driver had a heart attack behind the wheel Sunday, resulting in series of crashes in Elmont.

Investigators say the driver hit a pedestrian and two fences on Bedford and Covert avenues, before stopping at the front stoop of a Bedford Avenue home.

The driver has been listed in critical condition.

The pedestrian is in stable condition and being treated for multiple injuries.
